About Us

Smart, focused, knowledgeable and soul-driven, Maria Tripaldi and Erica Bressan are the winning team behind PlayaGayWeddings.com.

Both born near Venice, Italy, they met almost 20 years ago during their college years (earning a Linguistics degree).  They worked and traveled extensively all over the world before settling in Playa del Carmen. Maria and Erica have contributed one beautiful daughter each to the world.

Launching PlayaGayWeddings.com was the natural response to a growing demand for stylish same-sex destination weddings for couples who don’t have the time it requires to plan such an event in Playa del Carmen and the Mayan Riviera.

Maria and Erica have been organizing weddings, parties and tours in Playa del Carmen since 1996.  Long time residents of Playa del Carmen, Maria and Erica have a wide range of appropriate skills including budgeting, negotiating, exceptional taste and a "make it happen" attitude. Their company offers a unique approach to designing exclusive, yet not cost prohibitive, weddings.

Erica has been involved over the years in the marketing and managing of a very successful restaurant, thus enabling her to provide the customer with a can do attitude and professional flair to create the wedding one only imagined was possible.

Maria, on the other hand, came to wedding planning after selling her own restaurant to dedicate more time to Chinese Medicine and Yoga.  With her stylish, down to earth, original approach to event planning, Maria knows how to transform each challenge into a breeze.  No wonder some colleagues call her the Zen Planner of Playa.
